Was out on the ice for the first time this year. I had a hell of a time pulling my 6800 out over the snow. DEFINATELY out of shape!
Does someone make runners to mount on the bottom to aid in pulling over the snow? my thought was to cut down a pair of old ski’s and bolt them to the bottom?!? has anyone tried this? I don’t think I can talk the wife into buying a snowmobile or ATV for this purpose.
FYI ice was 5″ on Fish Lake, but the bite was slow for this rookie!

years back when I still had the wood floor suitcase type house I had to build a sled out of 2×4’s that would elivate the house about 6″. I used a pair of ski’s for runners and it made it reasonable to pull the portable, and all my gear out.

Getting the house up off the snow makes a huge difference, and the less surface area you have touching the ground, the less resistence it takes to move the weight(pull the house).

Imade a sled out of a pair of old cross country skis. It helped but in deep snow the skis weren’t wide enough to hold it up. I was thinking of trying to find an old pair of water skis and see if they would work better.

I have a 5600 and I took a couple old ski’s on a couple 2×4’s as well. It gets it up off the ground. I also put a couple of eyes hook on each ski so I could run a bungee over the shack. I then used the bungee to hold on other items. Works great!
