Faribault Area Lakes

Plan on hitting the hard ice for the first time this weekend. Has anyone heard any reports from around Faribault out that way. Drove by Shieldville last Sunday and didn’t see anyone on the lake.

I got my fiance a new portable for Xmas and thought I’d give it to her early. Where should we go????

Here is a link to the Southern Minnesota Forum. The ice reports aren’t good and these reports were made BEFORE all that wet heavy snow came which is making the ice not safe. Best to wait and be safe.

I did some calling around last night and it is just like you said. Not many people hitting the ice. I may just finish up the shopping this weekend. I would hate to have trouble and turn my fiance off from ice fishing. If I am in the area, I’ll bring the auger and check some ice.
