Noticed houses out on Grand Lake and a few other lakes in the area. I will get out soon and post my findings on ice thickness and hope to get a line down a hole too.

Dman, do you ever get out on Little Rock? The fishing is usually pretty good during the early ice. I am just wondering about ice and snow conditions on the lake. I am hoping to be out there on Sunday.

Doug, there is quite a bit of ice out there. This is the second week they have been fishing Horseshoe. There was 6 inches of ice this weekend and the bite was fair.

Bigfife- I drove by Little Rock Sunday and did’nt see any houses. I am sure that has changed by now. In past years it usually shows signs of life quicker than other lakes, but this is just one observation I had doing a drive-by that lasted 5 seconds. There is maybe 2-3 inches of snow. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That’s good news Scott. I did hear of houses out on horseshoe over the weekend. I will be out later today and see what there is to be seen. I will report back!

Just be careful out there. The ice thickness really varies. On Rice Lake there between 1 1/2 – 6″ out there.

Little Rock has about 8-10″ on it. Some really nice perch going, small walleyes. No one has seemed to finf the crappies yet.
