Many of the shallow backwaters are completely frozen over as of Thursday AM but there’s no way in heck they should be considered even close to walkable.

I saw a guy busting ice to duck hunt Mud Lake this morning as I was going to work. I was very jealous .

With the lows in the teens and lower and highs below freezing for a few days it should help make some good ice. I would think that our lows would stay below freezing now which will help too. Its much better to get good solid ice before snow as the ice is much safer then. But ALWAYS becarefull on ice as no ice is guaranteed safe.
    Thanks, Bill

I was down checking out Baypoint today. There is 3-4 inches of good ice and rumor has it the panfish are starting to hit. It’s that time of the year.
