    That snow will insulate for a while, but eventually will go ahead and mix and freeze solid. Not a bad situation if you ask me.
    Snow ice will hide you from the fish and be less spooked by your shadows.

    That is true, Herb. I really don’t like clear ice because if I can see the fish, they can see me. We will be trying it out this Sunday, so hopefully it will freeze solid.

    2 inches of black clear ice is much stronger than 2 inches of the white ice though. Personally, I need 4 inches, otherwise it creeps me out…haha
