I have fished Deer Lake in Polk County a couple times during the past week. Overall, it has been slow. This evening I caught about a dozen crappies and 5 bluegills. They are not real big on size though. Are the crappies biting better anywhere else?
There is still a solid 2 feet of ice or more on Deer and most area lakes. However, the ice is deteriorating fast up by shore.
