Cole and I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon on Smiths Bay trying to get a few clear water gills to bite. There is a good 7-8″‘s of ice on the bay, infact a few permanents are already on it.
    Cole watching the gills.

If any of you hard water anglers are looking for a few tips on clear water gills be sure to check out my new artcile on sight fishing in the In-depth article section.
I hope it will put a few more gills on the ice for everyone. We struggled yesterday and could not get them to bite. Here is a quick tip for those new to site fishing.I have a picture for you to see what I’m talking about.Drill 2 holes, look down one and fish the other.that way you don’t have to be right on top of the hole your fishing.
