Ditto!!
I use the Fleet Farm $4.00 kind..and they are ok…If I lose one or it breaks (they haven’t yet) I can afford …most of the time to replace them.
Stop in to see me, I think I have something that will work good for you.
Good Fishing,
Mike

I use the HT ice cleats, they were cheap and they seem to the job.
Yup – I’ve got a couple sets of them, and so far – they’ve stood up. Easy to slip on/off over Sorels too. Better than some others I’ve tryed…

HT are the ones I’ve found at Fleet Farm. Chomancharo turned me on to them last year…I guess because he got tired of me hanging on to his jacket every time I started to fall
Seems to me they were under $4. But maybe not…it’s been a year
I use the HT cleats also, easy to pull on over your boots. These cleats are only under the pad of your foot nothing under the heel. I see a brand in the Cabala’s book that pulls on with rubber straps and has cleats under the whole foot. I’ll trying that next, my heels need the cleats for traction.
Here’s the STABILicers Dave, Herb, and I use. I doubt I’ll ever buy anything else. They are extremely well built.
how are you attaching those STABILicers to your boots. They look like they have great traction, what about cost and what store I have yet to see those any where.
As a follow up to the pic that Blue FLeck posted, some years back, a friend of mine came up from Missouri to try ice fishing w/ me. Since it was a poor snow year, I had mentioned cleats for traction, etc.
What my buddy did was to get some hex head sheet metal screws, and threaded them in to the soles of his boots. He had no problems w/ traction on the ice, and it was real inexpensive too. He just left them in when he got back home.
When the heads get worn – he unscrews the worn and in-stalls new “sharp” ones.

I had a pair of boots that allowed me to do that. It worked great. Until some a-hole stole them….
HT Cleats from Fleet Farm for me too! Really easy to put on and take off, and won’t break the bank. Can’t wait to try them out this year!
Tryed the hex heads years back, no good! I’m a heavy guy and after a while my feet just knew the screws where there about to come thru.
On the stabilicers the size charts differ from mfg website to others. What size did you get for what size boot? I just bought some extra bulky size 12 packs and not sure if I should go large or extra large. Mfg site claims 12 and up xlarge while Cabelas says 13-14 xlarge.

HT Cleats from Fleet Farm for me too!
Fleet Farm in Hudson had these on sale today…19.95…normally $24 and some change.
Brian, The HT Cleats that I’m talking about are about 6 bucks. See my link in my previous post.
I have the HT cleats which came from WalMart. Just under 4 bucks. Had higher priced ones that I did’nt like as well.
Suzuki,
I’ll check the size i have at home…I’m pulling mine over a size 9 Rocky Stalker..
For the size 12 boots, get the extra large. Just picked up a new pair this weekend. Anybody want to buy a pair of size large stabilicers? Still in like new condition.
