I checked out a few of the local lakes today and found the following:

Clear Lake: ice covered with some open water around the island and south.

    Lone Lake: wide open

Ripple Lake: some sim ice most area open.

I checked out Sections 10 and 12 today just south of Aitkin. Both of these lakes are ice cover with some amounts of open water.

Thanks for the ice updates Bob! You’ve covered quite a few lakes in the last couple days.

Thanks James…….my work has taken me to these areas! Today I worked on Section 10 lake. Nice warm sunshine today….not much weather for making ice!

Wladmiraf is one of my favorite lakes, not far at all from my private bass honeyhole. Red Indian road has more than one good lake off it.

    Dan,

You had to look that up to get the spelling right! LOL

Your right about all those little lakes up there, nice panfish holes.

No spellcheck needed, I have spent some time out there, specifically in the spring on the sunken island between the two points. The locals hit it pretty hard but year after year it seems to produce.

Dan, I’ve done alot of work on the west end of sec.10 for the Heft sisters Kim and Pam. Also know thier brother Randy that is building the glass house on the hill!!!!!!!!

I have fished section 12 for some 35+ years……….crappies in the winter on the far east end!
