Im looking to buy a new ice fishing suit. ( The hunting bibs and coat Dont keep me dry) Im either looking at the frabill suit (grey) or the strikemaster suit. i see on the shows the guys here at ido really like the strikemaster. I live in iowa and it is not not below double did-jets most days. im wondering if the frabill un insulated would work better for me? i do a lot of hole hopping and walking out.

I have the Frabill suit that you mention in your post. Works fine for most days as long as you layer accordingly. There were a few days this past winter I did wish I had something a little warmer, but this winter was also a little harsh.

No knowledge of the Strikemaster suit to make that comparison though.

X2 on the Grey Frabill suit. I’ve had it in some nasty stuff and like mentioned you just need to layer right to be comfortable. However, I would get something insulated if you plan to fish outside most of the time in very cold weather.

I picked up a Outdoor Expedition Anorakk suit late in the season at a killer price. I don’t fish in a shelter and spent some days on the ice in the cold and this suit for the money was perfect, all kinds of pockets, padded knees and warm enough for me to just wear a long sleeve tee shirt under. Definitely worth checking out.

X2….I have yet to find a day where the Striker suit is not enough for the elements. Have had the Ice Armour Suit and this is soooooo superior to that, it is unbelievable!

I own the origional striker and the latest and greatest striker suits. Both good. Also have arctic armor bibs. Good too.

I would like to see an increase in durability for ALL ICE SUIT BRANDS… None of my suits are in fantastic condition after a season or two of use…But they were all great out of the box.

    All season suits for me.

I was in my climate suit saturday night…It’s my “OnBoard sleeping bag”.
