Hayward ice

    I was hoping to drill some holes on Round lake this weekend.
    Anyone have current ice conditions to report?

    Turtle Lake/Balsam Lake area still had close to 30 inches of ice last weekend. A buddy fished Balsam last night and said the ice was still very good. I didn’t see anyone still driving vehicles out last weekend (landings are getting sloppy). The ice around Hayward will be as good if not better.

    Round lake had 24″ of ice still.
    Trucks were driving out.
    Got into a great midday crappie bite on tipdowns
    (Thanks icenutz) and found some accidental lmbs and healthy mid 20″ pike.
    Its gonna be another 3 weeks till ice out up there.

    Good to see the Tip Downs put them on the ice again. I will have to get up there this winter and fish with you and tip a few beverages of choice.
