As of right now I only have one Tucr but by next year I WILL have at least 2 more.. I was wondering about the handle?? I have a split grip right now and I have pretty small hands and was looking at it and it’s a 32 inch rod but the last 3-4 inches from the split back I never use.. I was wondering if it would make more sense to have just a normal handle at the butt of the rod that it about an inch longer than the front portion of my split grip.. I would thing that would be fishing with an extra 2 inches or so.. If that all made sense let me know your opinion on that.. Thanks!
I have a split grip and regular grip TUCR and if I lost both today I’d be ordering new ones with standard handle, but only about 3″ long which is basically the front grip portion of the split grip. That back little knob and exposed blank is pointless to me unless you’re fighing big fish like pike or lakers. Yes I pistol grip and traditional grip, maybe half and half. To think you can get decent feeling from the blank after it goes through the cork grip is kind of ridiculous. The “feel” you get is from vibrations traveling through the blank… cork is an excellent vibrational damper so once those vibrations hit the cork it all but kills them. If you truly want the best feel from your rod, then you will have a finger where the blank first meets the cork… that is the sweetspot on any rod to and is where you will get the best/most “feel”.
