I’m glad this was posted tonight!

Folks at the Sports Show were saying this was their favorite show of the ice season! AND Ben was able to get in on the fun as well!

Pike on a rod…BIG pike on a rod looks like a hoot!

A BIG shout out to James and his staff both in front and behind the scenes for a great Ice season. This winter you had to really earn your keep. Mother nature was not your friend!! Nice work to all and we cant wait to see where the truck and boat take us this week. Thanks for all the ice tips this season.

Great Show! I am wondering though– What made the wounds on most of the fish? What is in LOW waters that would do that?

Really impressed with the knowledge Ben has on the fisheries. With a staff like that it’s a hard show to beat.

I’m not one to chase pike but you have turned me on to at least making one trip to do the monsters on rod and reel through the ice

Your ability and willingness to film and then broadcast the same week is worth it’s weight in gold. There’s no other fishing show like it. Thanks for your tips!

Lamprey. We had to pull several off a couple of the fish we iced. They’re nasty little critters, that’s for sure.

And we appreciate every time we hear it!

Of course a lot of the credit, maybe even most of the credit, goes to the guys behind the scenes. Ben Brettingen behind the video camera, Pat McSharry in the editing studio and Ben Larson behind the still camera and through his graphics bring our trips to life.

Awesome episode. What types of rods were you guys using?

Awesome show guys! I’ve been able to apply so much from these shows into my own fishing, and the difference is incredible. There is so much knowledge packed into this group, it is hard to watch a show and not learn something!

After James’ answer I looked it up. Silver Lamprey. Native to LOW,Rainy River, and Red River. I did not know that. I’ve fished there for walleyes several times and never encountered a lamprey.

Most of the rods we were using were TUCR LT (Lake Trout) rods in 36-38″. James also had a custom TUC extra heavy rod that was affectionately referred to as the “broom stick”.
