Slow bite on Lake Winnipeg last Thursday thru Sat. Average 10 fish per day. Still landed some some big eyes with most fish over 20″. Thursday was the nicest day at 30F with heavy fog most of the day, Friday, 30-40 mph winds and colder, Sunday morning temperature down to -22F.
27 1/2″ was the biggest fish, several 26 1/2″ with one weighing 9#12oz.
Had a great time and met some great guys, Grant and Shawn, who help us out on our first trip to Lake Winnipeg.
Pulling these fish through +/-43″ of ice plus a foot and half of ice was exciting. My gas auger die after only 2 holes, My backup was my ION which worked great, just had to shovel down to hard ice since the battery had to touch ice to punch through.
