So after using my tucr split grip presision noodle this ice season i have to say the higher end rod was very very nice and i can honestly say that it helped e catch more fish and was the only way to go with the recoil guides for hole hopping. Any who! I made a trip to south dakota for perch ans walleye and I dont have a nice perch and walleye rod. Used a 24 inch med light and it just felt wrong after using my 32 inch pn. so my question. I want to get another tucr and i dont know if i should get a qt or presision i want a 32 inch and i will mostly be going for perch with walleye mixed in. I will be fishing the smallest 1/32 and the biggest 1/8 but almost every time a 1/16 i want a rod that i can really control the spoon or lure with. something that a can really get the rattles and such to work with. i like the idea of having the presision in case i hook a nice pike or nice walleye and being able to work the baits hard and not sloppy. i was pretty much wondering if id be able to feel the bite with a 1/32 or 1/16 oz spoon?

In short, yes, the precision will be able to feel the lightest lures you’re talking about and still have a lot of backbone left. The Qt has a softer tip than the precision and is a good panfish rod with panfish lures but still has the backbone to cover you if you hook into a larger fish. I have 2 32″ precisions and while I love the rod, would prefer a little longer. Don’t mean to hijack but PM me maybe we could work something out.

John will give you the best answer, but I think you would benefit best from a quick tip, it has a good backbone but that fast tip is perfect for detecting a bite and making a perfect hook set while using smaller baits. A quick tip, precision and p-noodle are a perfect set, you could just get both.

I just got 2 new rods in the mail today. That makes 5 new tucr rods since January. Think I might need help with my addiction

I ordered a 32″ Quick Tip from TUCR and received it by the middle of January. I absolutely loved this rod for walleyes and had my best season ever on the ice. You can see and/or feel the bite and the rod has plenty of back bone to fight a large fish. I used mostly 1/8 oz spoons and toward the end of the season started using the size 4 Rippin Rap. I did not have a chance to fish any perch with the rod or smaller size jigs. I would have used my TUCR Power Noodle for my first choice for perch more than likely. All of my fishing buddies were impressed with the Quick tip rod from TUCR.

I agree with the QT option. In talking w/ Adam as well as Brad Hawthorne at the Ice Fishing Show, they steered me to it. I loved the action it had with my jigs that I use for walleye. Looking to now either get a dead-stick for on the ice well out in the portable or the Noodle for the panfish.

I would go with a Quicktip that will give you the most feel. Personally I would choose a split grip too. That is going to give you the most advantage with the smaller lures.

The Precision rod is better suited for a little heavier 1/8 oz all the time.

Let me know if you have more questions.

    Thank you
