Well, as Kevin23 from Iowa posted, I think the ice fishing season is also quickly coming to a close in South Dakota. We’ve now had several days of 50 degree weather and the next 10 days are all well above normal, in the upper 30’s to low 50’s. There was 2” to 4” of standing water on several area lakes yesterday.

Means I should start thinking about storing my new Otter XT1200 in the next couple of weeks. Been thinking about storing it hanging from the garage ceiling with most of the gear stored in it. The auger is on a wall rack so I can start it periodically in the summer.

I thought I’ve seen sort of storage rack online that you can lower by rope and pulley. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on these types or other storage solutions and where I could purchase one.

How do you store your gear?

I will second the Racor storage rack. I installed one last Spring and it works great for holding my Otter Lodge. I bought mine on Amazon for about $50 less than you can find it anywhere else with free shipping. Just do a seach for “racor garage storage” and I think you can get it for around $100.

I just went with a pulley system hung from the top of the garage. I run four equal length lines from the corner of my otter to a big ring. The hook from the pulley goes through the ring and UP she goes. Had to get a multiple pulley system like a deer gamble to get it up there, but it works slick. I load everything in the otter before I hoist it up. I think the systems mentioned here might be a bit easier to set up.
