Hey everybody! Heading out to Devils Lake on the 16th and looking for some pointers. We are big perch and walleye guys so those are our targets. Any pointers would be great on where to start because this is our first trip out there. Going to talk to the woodland guys but we love chasing tip ups for walleyes as we jig for them. Any help on where to get started so we can bring home some nice walleyes would be great! I have been studying my maps but nothing beats first hand experience. Thanks guys!

If you dont mind crowds near the casino access there is almost always good walleyes just theyre gunshy at times. Perch have been roaming the basin not relating to much of anything. Every bay will hold a perch school for thr most part. The only hot tip is drill drill drill. Channel A north of the bridge is always my goto walleye spot. No crowds this time of year and better average size ive noticed. Take hwy 19 off hwy2 therestwo bridges i usually pass the first one and fish the 2nd less crowds. Good luck

The bite has been strong and I think you are going to hit it pretty good. There are still lots of perch roaming the deep basins but there are also perch that are starting to move up shallow. If you can find them shallower they are generally much easier to catch. Look in the south end of Black Tiger or the north end of Six Mile. Walleyes in both areas too. I’d chase perch during the day and fish walleyes in the low light periods on structure. Sunny days are better for perch. Pelican Lake probably has the biggest average perch but they can be tough to locate and stay on. Fish are starting to be caught along the edges of sunken trees too. Great Lake – Good Luck!
