I’m not sure of I’m going to be able to fit it into the budget this year or not but what is everyone’s thoughts? I am 6 foot about 215 lbs and j will be fishing solo most of the time. If It is roomy enough I would like to get this shack I mean it’s cheaper than most I insulated shacks and it’s thermal so what is everyone’s opinions?. I normally fish with a 32 inch precision noodle or quick tip.

I fish from a frabill trekker and it has about the same fishable area 50X58 vs Clams 51X57. I love the size of mine for one person and can do two if I need to (but its tight). fishing size should be good for you but I dont know if I would want to go any shorter in hight then what i have. mine is 67 inches vs the clam 61.
I would try to find one in a store and test it out before you buy one just to make sure it will work for you.
March 4, 2014 at 10:50 am #1393650I fished out of a nanook for a year. It pulled easy and had plenty of room solo. It was a little cramped fishing two but not to bad. The only thing that I would change is the seats suck if your in the house all day.

if you only fish alone then I would look at the Legend One Man. it is full thermal and is taller.
the set up size is as follows :
43″ wide X 92″ long X 67″ tall
it has a better seat then the Nanook. this house retails for around $399.99 where as the full thermal Nanook thermal is $479.99. also with the Legend you get the new Light stick that is right in the frame. this light will light up this house like high noon. I have been running a Legend this year and have been very happy with it. I will probably be adding a Nanook Thermal and a X2 Thermal to my equipment lineup next year. just had another idea that might work for you. I would also look at the Bigfoot XL4000T hub house. it is full thermal and 8’W X 8’L X 6″ 10″T. it retails for around $349.99.
March 4, 2014 at 8:56 pm #1393836Love my nanook thermal. sometimes it seems you only need the power of the sun to heat up the shack nicely. I would consider it pretty short for a 2 man but it is plenty wide for 2 and is very light
March 5, 2014 at 4:47 am #1393848I will 2nd the vote, if you are normally fishing alone, for the Legned Thermal 1 man Clam. I had the Nanook Thermal and sold it bought the Legend and been very happy with the choice. The only thing I do not like about the Legend is the fabric seems to be a little short keeping the front pole off the ice but if you have plenty of snow to bank it is not a big deal, which we don’t have in So Dak but I have made it work with slush. I am around your size and do not feel cramped in the Legend and the seat is a TON better than the one in the Nanook, it is light, warm and the light bar is a very nice feature.
March 5, 2014 at 6:49 am #1393870Well i dont always fish solo.. i fish with a partner prabably 1 out of every 3 times out and with it being thermal i was thinking it might be faster to heat up on cold days.. on warm days i will just leave the shack down and use it as a seat.
March 5, 2014 at 7:01 am #1393874It will definately warm up quicker and it does stay warm, I still fish sometimes with the guy that bought mine. If you spend alot of time in it look at adding a seat cushion for some more padding would be my only suggestion. Other than the seats it is a great shack.
