Fishing non pressured lakes in mid winter

Now that we are in the month of march it still feels like we are in the dead mid of winter which can at times make for difficult ice fishing. We spent the day on Friday fishing a lake that does not get any fishing pressure and our goal was to target largemouth Bass and Northern pike. While only having a three hour window that the fish were active and feeding we did manage to catch around 15 Bass and only having 1 pike that managed to cut the line. During mid winter when fishing gets slow on your heavily fished lakes and you have some more non pressured lakes in your area give them a try this time of year and they might just pay off.

    Great info Paul…

I have missed the past 6 weeks of ice fishing…I’m thinking about getting out on the ice this week… and with the thickness of the ice… I will be able to do just what your saying…
