I was thinking the same thing. I was going to fish the back waters of the Mississippi River with a shack and heater. But decided to stay in.

I stayed home. Just got back from Como Conservatory. Nice to walk around all the gardens. The humidity was nice. .

Ah, I can remember bringing my daughter there in the middle of winter. What a cheap 2 hour vacation!

I went out today, and that was a mistake. Caught one small bluegill and my hands felt like they were frostbitten. I’m not giving up on ice fishing this season, but I’m waiting for the pre-spring warm up. Better days ahead, hopefully.

I went but too cold to fish effectively and lost more crappies than I caught. Johnsonville grillers made it worth while though plus stopping at Fleet Farm and purchasing a nice Eagle Claw noodle rod for $23.
