If you don’t have an account there to view Jeff’s link… The short answer is that it is impossible to pour tungsten jigs at home.

The good news is that if you do figure how to pour tungsten jigs, you will no longer need a heater in your garage.

I purchase all of my molds, hooks, and etc.. from do-it molds. You can find them on-line under Do-It Molds. I still believe you can have them send you a free catalog.

6000 degrees would melt those molds

I believe most tungsten jigs are a combo of tungsten dust/polymer agent to harden, at 6000+ degrees the hooks would evaporate when the molten tungsten hit them.

Hooks are soldered onto tungsten blanks to make jigs. The hooks are not inside the tungsten.

No, many if not all the better tungsten jigs are slotted. The hook is placed in the slot and solidered in place then painted or plated over. The only exception is the ball jigs which I don’t care much for anyhow. One of my jig guys buys the 3-5mm blanks in raindrop style and soliders then paints up. They come out very nice!
