I fish Cayuta lake a lot thru the ice….Was catching several perch and nice big gills..Last 2 times I was out,I only got a couple of gills..Smaller ones..this is not a real deep lake..26 at the most..I tried any where from 14 foot back to 7 foot..nothing,real slow….I am thinking maybe they are in shallower water, but didn’t try…Only a few guys fishing out there this morning….Any ideas ?

My spots died too. I managed to find a few fish out in 20′ of water about 6′ down. They were very aggressive, but also very small and very few of them.

In the midst of winter especially this extremely cold one things can get difficult for many different species with small feeding windows if any on a daily basis. Good news is we are now moving into March which will usually see a change in weather patterns with warmer temps moving in along with longer days which will begin to create melting along with some run off and game fish will begin to become more active.
