I was wondering if anybody knows of a backpack that can hold your rods and gear like the catquivers for bow hunting? Anybody heard of anything

Do a Google search on “Flyfishing backpack”. Lots of options out there.

I second Randy, back in highschool I use to walk out a lot with a trapping back. Flashing in the bottom and a few rods in there sticking out the top. Auger over the shoulder, find something that works for you, good luck. QB

As for trapping packs, you have a few options. Woven, tuff packs that have a plastic liner, or a 5 or 6 gallon bucket with a harness

ReadyRig makes a bag just like you’re describing, but I wish they still made the Stone Legacy Bags. That one was more of a rodbag, but did have backpack straps on it. I still own one and won’t get rid of it. Really nice for walk-in BWCA trips. Takes up very little space and keeps rods reasonably well protected. Good luck in your search!

I still have my SL as well even though I’ve now gone over to a true hard case. They’re a nice rig for what they are though.

I always thought those newer baseball bags that have the sides to hold the bats vertically would work. Throw a couple PVCs notched in to hold the rods.

Lakewood makes an interesting and expensive pack (E090 – Ice Pack). Solid products – I’ve got a pair of their rod cases that are pushing 10 yrs old and are still sweet.

Check out the striker transporter, it’s modeled in the same fashion as the stone legacy. Has backpack straps, holds five rods, and a ton of gear in the side and top compartments.
