Tackle Question?

I booked a trip to LOTW with Arnesen’s Resort in mid March to take my boys ice fishing. We do a lot of ice fishing at home but all out tackle is smaller pan fish stuff. I would like to fish Walleye and Perch but would be happy with any species as long as the kids are catching fish.

What would be some go to lures and sizes that I could pick up on the way up to be ready to hit the ice when we arrive?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have heard of good results while using the VMC Tingler Spoon,Rattle Spoon and the Tumbler Spoon for both Walleye and Perch.

They used it plain or with a minnow head.

Good luck, have fun and be safe.

I get over there quite often. What trumar and Phil said. I’ve caught more walleyes on VMC spoons on LOW, Rainy and Upper Red this year than any other lures. Have also used them more. Buckshot rattle and macho minnow type spoons are also good. Glow pink, red, off white (glows light green), or gold. A Northland 1/8 oz glow #13 jig is another go to. I generally use a small spoon or plain red hook with a full minnow on a dead stick and jig with the other with a one of the above + a minnow head or full minnow. IF the fish are aggressive, a Chubby Darter in or jigging rap in the same colors can be very good too.
