any one ever try one of these for ice fishing? Wonder if it will show a jig ? I drill 2 5 inchholes and thought If I put it in one it might might show the jig in the other one..Just a thought?

I’ve used my LCD display for ice fishing, but doesn’t seem to work so well if in a different hole. The beam is fairly directional, so I fish with it to one side in a 10″ hole.

One has to carefully tune the sensitivity for a jig. For smaller baits used for panfish I just know about my depth and can tell the fish are coming it it. One has to get used to watching the lines progress across the screen, but it shows the fish coming up the bait. Eventually, I will get a flasher, but it works for now.

That would be a load to carry on the ice, but it would probably work. Take it out of fish ID mode and turn your sensitivity and chart speed to max and you might see your jig.

Are you not talking about the one that is built on a tube that you mount to a boat? Looks almost as if its sitting on top a baseball bat. That’s all I meant by a load, having to carry something that doesn’t pack down like an ice unit.

Glad to hear it worked for you, happy catching!

I’ve the the Bottome Line unit from before Humminbird took over. If it had a wider angled transducer I’s still be using it. You have to pull in out sometimes just like you would a ducer on the flashers too. You gotta get that sucker straight up and down and keep your line close to it because of the 9 degree ducer but for the price it’s great. Cabela’s had it for $50 and I got Gander to match the price. I only got the Ice 35 because I won my fantasy football league.
