From what I understand by reading the regs, this is legal in Minnesota because of the spinner blades on the rig. These rigs are sold in most bait stores in Minnesota and I personally use a similar setup.

As long as you have the spinner blades and beads to make them a “lure” they should be good. Personally I’ve never caught anything on those, just on regular trebles, but if you’re going to do that, add a spinner blade and bead in MN.

Stated specifically in the regs, adding a bead or spinner does not make it a lure. 3 hooks on a single line within 9″ total. IMO its illegal BC its not on a single line. But I would venture to assume most COs might be fine with it BC its intent is to be a quick strike.

Either way that thing has got a lot of hardware on it. I would foot out for something simple and less distracting to the fish than all that metal hanging around, with just a couple trebles.

Single Tackle Configuration. Anglers may use up to three single or multiplepronged

(example – treble) hooks on a line used as a single tackle configuration

attached to the end of a fishing line (Examples – crawler harness, quick-strike

rig. See pictures on page 17). Note: a single tackle configuration cannot be

used on designated trout streams and lakes.

    – The total length of the single tackle configuration from the first hook to the

last hook must be nine inches or less.

    – Anglers may use live, artificial, preserved, or dead bait that is lawful to use

    (see page 15).

    – This single tackle configuration is not considered an artificial fly or lure/

bait, and no additional hooks may be used. Adding a bead, blade, or

spinner does not make it into an artificial lure/bait.

So if it’s no more than 9 inches between hooks the yes it’s legal, otherwise no.

Kirsten to Nhamm. He’s talked to the DNR. I agree with him that technically that rig is illegal because it is not a single tackle configuration according to the DNR definition. However, I can’t believe a CO would ticket you.

Ha ha, Kirset. Autocomplete fail. “Listen” was the real word.
