I have used braided line for a couple of years now. I always get one that starts to slip on the reel is there any way to fix this problem?

put 20 or so yards of backing on (mono) and you will not have any slipping.

Most people, including me use a mono for backing then tie on your braid. It also saves you money by not having to fill the whole spool with braid. Another way us to wrap electrical tape around spool first.

I put on a small piece of scotch tape after tying on the braid..the braid wraps tight against the tape and does not allow it to slip on the spool..

    Mono works too

I think he meant tape on spool before braid.

    Yup !!!

I actually tie a clinch knot to the spool with braid. and then start the scotch tape on the back side of the knot(in reference to the direction the braid is spooled up)to the front of the knot. press the tape down tight, and then with tension on the braid, start spooling it up !!!

Spin 1/3 spool up with electric tape. Takes up space you’ll never use because reel operates less effective with low line. Then tie on braid with a cinch knot(no line spin or slip)and spool full of braid. You saved money also by not filling useless space on you spool as fill with line you’ll never get to.

The braided ice line is great for warmer weather but the -20degrease the stuff just does not cut it, Holds to much ice for me.And I back it with some soft water line from one of my summer reels 10 test works great. Just my personal opinion.
