I bought a new LM last year halfway through the season, from the get go it had a faulty clutch. Bit would never stop spinning. So I called strikemaster, they gave me the number for there service centers After getting the run around again and again, I called Scheels-Eau Claire. They said to bring it in and they would take care of it If it wasnt for Scheels being GREAT, I would have stuck that auger up someones Its just frustrating when a company gets to big to service there customers like they once did

I agree we all get frustrated when we don’t get immediate satisfaction to our liking from any product or service provider. You definitely highlighted a few few days of wasted or dead time that obviously something could have been done sooner – Especially if the service provider set the wrong expectations, which it sounds like they had done to you-by waiting the extra X amount of days before sending it in for replacement.

A couple things I would do:

Draft a letter (not email – too easy to simply delete) voicing your experience to Strike Master/Rapala

Call the individual out at the service provider that set an incorrect expectation to you.

Be understanding that your issue came up in the middle of ice fishing season. Had this taken this long in July, I would be surprised. But when your in the middle of a season which is nearly the peak time that anyone with an auger issue wouldf be seeking help….your right in the middle of the crowd.

Recognize that in life, this is really an insignificant event. As much as this is an inconvenience,

Strikemaster does not repair the Honda motor in house they send it back to Honda, that’s why it takes so long. I had the exact same thing happen to me last year tournament the next day and everything. After waiting forever Jason ended up sending me a Lazer Mag with a 10″ bit and let me keep the 8″ to offset the cost. In the end Strikemaster was very accommodating I was not happy with them in the beginning but they have to play by Hondas rules so I guess that’s who I’d be mad at. Oh by the way a little birdy told me the 4 strokes have way too many moving parts and I’d be better off with the 2 stroke.
