There’s a new player in the rod game.. and he’s right here on IDO.

Got these today and WOW do they look sweet. I got a 28″ power noodle for fishing small jigs in the flipover (my TUCR is an inch too long) and a 36″ UL XF for hole hopping with spoons and big plastics. Both are nothing short of amazing. Hope to try these out on some fish this weekend.

The one thing that really stands out is the guide spacing, instead of predictive spacing like you see on factory rods and some custom rods, he follows each rod’s bend and places a guide to optimize the performance. Both rods have the perfect bend when flexed, should handle those big crappies perfectly.

So that is all, just wanted to show off my new toys!

Who would have thought you would get a NEW rod just because you sent me a rod to reguide for you

It might be a good thing for you that I am a shaky old man !

Kevin sent me a near to new factory made ice rod and I was to replace the factory guides with some better ones and change the guide wrap to red.. well I nicked the blank while removing one guide and after I tested the blank it snapped , I contacted him and stated I would build him a replacement rod that would be alot better than the one he sent me, he agreed to my deal, then after discussing what he wanted for components he asked if I would build a second one for him and ship both at the same time.

Kevin,I am glad after my screw up you accepted my offer and thanks for the order on the second rod.

I hope your new rods are what you expected and work well for you.

I dont usually builds ice rods for anybody outside of my local friends and family members.

    BTW….leave those catfish alone

    Thanks Jeff

Trumar, nice looking rods! I like that trick of playing the more even/closer spacing on the top 3 guides to stiffen the tip section a bit for a enhanced jigging spoon rod. (bottom pic) Very nice!

Seriously, these are two of the best rods I’ve ever had my hands on. They are up there in the custom rod world, way up there.

And, I need to say that trumar is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He very easily could have said “too bad” when the original rod broke, but he didn’t. We picked out the blank and guides I wanted and now I have a rod that is 10 times better than what the factory rod was.

Thank you so much for making these for me!

To be HONEST with you I know very little about building ice rods, they are so much different to build than open water rods.

I hope they serve you well and thanks for the kind words

Nice looking rods! What kind of in-line reel is on the top rod?
