What is best to keep the door zippers from freezing up? We set up the ice shack and then cleaned out the holes and the water froze the zippers up.

Just go buy a stick of chapstick or bow string wax and rub it into both sides of the zipper

Keep the zippers in the upper 1/4 of the trap, the warmer air will help dry the zippers out.

I use pure silicone spray. Both dry lubes and sheds water. Easy to apply and mess free.

I haven’t had trouble with my shack, but I use Max Wax zipper wax on my dry suit. Not only will it help with ice, but it will make your zipper work much more smoothly. Plus it isn’t messy. I got it at amazon.

    1. keep zippers on upper half.
    2. Dont throw slush and water out the unzipped door. Use a pail if in a pop-up. or clean holes then flip shack down.

I agree that keeping them up high helps a lot.

Better the shack zipper then the old fly eh?
