    Hey All!

Hope the new year is treating you right!

A few buddies and myself are looking to get out in a sleeper… Thinking going to LOTW just because of the slots for eyes and sauger.

Looking for ice fishing recommendations for a place to go. Looking to get a really nice sleeper (a few of my buddies are city boys). Maybe something like a ice castle (TV/RV like set up).

Anyone have any other recommendations? We are looking to head up late FEB.

    Thanks!

    (HAPPY FISHING!)

If your looking for a place to go and stay I’d definitely go with Portavilla by far the best outfitter around the people are great and the service and fishing is amazing

I heard Winterset Resort closed and as far as I know they were the only ones offering ice castle type houses on LOW. If you are looking to be in a sleeper that is really nice you will want to look at Portvilla on Upper Red.

We just found and stayed with this guy last weekend after our initial plan fell apart on the lake when we arrived.

    I recommend.

Walleye Haven. Bill Schillewaert. 763-229-5314 Nice clean newer sleepers with bunks, stove and bathroom. They are set up for 4 people. Bills a great guy and takes care of your every need.

I highly DO NOT recommend sleepers with Sean Westman of Sean’s Guide Service.

My personal recommendation would be to stay at the Lakeroad Lodge motel if you can get in then fish day houses. Either Lakeroad lodge day houses or Bills. 3 days couped up on the lake without running water or TV was a little much for me. 2 nights would be doable. If you are all adventurous guys its will be fun at least once.

Exactly. From about 4:30 to bedtime is a lot of time to kill. Days will be longer by end of Feb though.

Lakeroad is a good place to go with early and late ice. I’ve been there the last 4 years.

I’ve been going to Arnesons Rocky Point for the past couple years and have no complaints. Expecting to go back again this March.

Sportsman’s has quite a few sleepers and you will get treated well, first class resort.
