Cedarville Reservoir has not frozen over for a number of years. All that has changed this year and I am planning on hitting it on the ice. It is a damned portion of the St. Joseph River in NE Indiana so there are a number of species that I could find however I want to target crappies. I have circled the areas of interest. Anyone have suggestions of other areas or tips to fishing reservoirs and backwaters.

I would definately try the deep water areas. Seems a crappie is a crappie no matter where you search them out this time of year. – QB

Start with louder rattle baits like a rattle spoon to see if you can call some fish and downsize from there. Perhaps a small minnow jig or pug bug. – qB
