Ice Fishing Door County Whitefish

    Here is a fishing report for todays groups. Fishing started slow for everyone but after an hour or so and a couple moves to shallower water everyone began catching good numbers of Whitefish. Once again we found our best success using Rapala jigging Raps in the colors of black and gold along with the Rainbow Trout pattern. The best depths that we found active fish in were 50 to 60 FOW. Everyone was able to catch there limit of Whitefish today and most fish were ranging from 17 to 19 inches with some fish in the 20 inch range.

    Good stuff Paul, by the looks of if I will be out your way come the end of January. I have caught whitefish in Canada, but looking forward to some Wisconsin whitefish. The Tug is the Drug. – QB

    Locally smoking them or just fillets? I might need to come up sometime midweek.
