Just wondering whats everyone’s favorite perch jig and what would you tip it with usually? I’m trying to get some nice perch through the ice.

Orange sherbet Ratso or Shimpos with no have been good for me. Also orange rocker with a spike. Also orange Lil Cecil.

purple/gold rat finkie in the sun. Pink glow when it’s cloudy. Pink/white ratso is also a good one. If I am shallow, I’ll use waxies. If I am deep, I’ll usually fish spikes. Hali Spoons also work pretty good at times too.

Jig – any type of small horizontal with a bloodworm imitation or mayfly imitation.

Spoon – PK Flutterfish in red dot glow, tipped with a minnow head or maggot.

I’ve been getting mine on 1/8oz Tinglers and rattle spoons tipped with a minnow head. The larger size singles out the larger perch, but you will still get some 6-8″ fish here and there.

Depends on the lake and the fishes mood.

Aggressive/Neutral fish on a lake with good average size fish I like a 1/16oz buckshot or rattling flyer. I like to load a spoon with spikes or a minnow head. I let the fish tell me which to use.

Aggressive/Neutral fish on a lake with big perch, but lots of smaller ones to sort through/avoid I like a #3 chubby darter. I like to fish it bare, but if I have to I put 6 to 9 spikes on the front hook.

Negative fish I usually just go to a small northland mud bug or hexi fly loaded with spikes.

I usually used a 1/8 perch rattle flyer for those nice Devil’s Lake jumbo perch.

My go to for perch is the Tingler spoon and the rattle spoon for searching for the schools of big perch. Most of the times I will just tip them with plastic. I’ve been using a lot of mustache worms and if the bite is tough I will also pack on some larva to help get a few more to commit.
