Walleye depth

If the eyes are stocked fish they tend to relate to the weeds year round. Or if their forage is small panfish they will hang shallow and pick them off. If they are eating some smaller perch they tend to be a bit deeper following them around. It is really a lake dependent thing. Not familiar with the lake, but there may not be much traditional structure and that is why they hang in the weeds as well. Good luck on your adventure!

Hello, I have too been wondering the same thing. I also fish Green Lake, mostly for crappies this year. I’ve heard that guys fishing the channels have been catching walleyes. The channel that connects south green to north green is about 8-12 fow. You sould (as im going to do) go check the lastest information about Green Lake at Frankie’s Baitshop on Hwy 8. If you end up finding something that works, comment back.

I think that is a very interesting concept or theory! It would be very interesting to see the data of creel census (and catch locations) Vs. the stocking information. Also to see what type of stock went in – 4″ fingerlings vs fry and so on. I believe that same thing happens very frequently amongst lakes everywhere. Even on the same body of water. A couple deep water basin lakes I fish often have the best walleye bites in 6 to 12 fow while a lake across the street will be best in 22 fow. But i still think that the over all eco system will heavily influence their behavior. Not all structure is created equal nor is the forage base.
