Now that I have my jigging rods covered, just wondering if anybody has any experience with a great deadstick rod. I was looking at the Thorne Bros 28″ deadstick. Any feedback or stories would be great. Thanks, Ray

I have just purchased a TUCR rod and used it up at LOW and love it. On our Father son trip I had to share a house with a guy that likes 4 holes in the portable, so we set up dead stick on the far side and jig sticks at our feet. Loved the 32 inch reach and the feel of the rod.

Which TUCR did you use. I have the PN,QT and PP. Did you use a float?

I’m going back and forth between a 32″ DH Al Dente and a 32″ thorne powernoodle for my walleye deadstick.

I have a 28″ al dente, it a great deadstick rod. I did have a thorne bros deadstick and found its not as sensitive as I would have liked. You might try the tripwire, or the QT from TUCR.

There’s some great custom rods out there for deadsticks, if you’re looking for a commercially made deadstick, I have really enjoyed the Frabill Bro Series Deadstick (27 inches). Very soft and bright colored tip but has a backbone to land a 5-6 pound fish with ease.

I agree the Frabill rods are great rods.

As many of you have already seen on our facebook page we are releasing a new rod today. That new rod is a rod that we designed for dead sticking. It is a heavy noodle. It has the backbone of our QT but with a heavier noodle tip. This rod can be built out to 36″. It also has a hi viz orange tip to make the lighter bites easier to detect. Get in touch with any of us here at Tuned Up Custom Rods to get more info
