The pin sheered off and I need to know how to get the white gear part off the auger so I can hammer out the broken pin.

Looks like take off the bit and press the shaft off.

can’t say I’ve ever had this happen but as you’ve proved, it can.
    Here’s a link.

Maybe you have that diagram. But I’d think that main pin should be able to be ‘punched’ out. If it’s rusted in, try all your favorites, WD40, even Coke a Cola, and then perhaps drill it out….sorry can’t be of more help..

Ive had my model 70 apart. it came out with some light hammering with a brass or aluminum block. You will have to remove the auger bit though.

Is there maybe a “key” that attaches the shaft to the gear?

Can’t see it that clearly with the grease around shaft.

    Good luck.

I don’t remember a pin in the gear box when I overhauled mine last year. There is a key at the bottom of the engine crankshaft, so take the bit off, remove any burr around the hole that hold the bit to the shaft and the shaft and gear should push up out of the bottom white housing.
