Went out on the ice today and noticed something weird on my Marcum LX-1 screen. The flasher (not sure what the little bar, that creates the images of the depth & lure, on top is called) kept moving on the screen. Like literally everything on the screen moved a little bit to the left then to the right. It was pretty hard trying to get fish to bite. So I tested about 10 other holes to see if there was any difference and only 3 of them worked fine. I was on a small lake so I’m pretty sure there wasn’t much current flowing. But any response would be great. Thanks!

    Joshua1 Welcome to IDO!

It sounds like what you’re describing is coming from an under charged or possible old battery.

If have a second battery or can borrow one try that first, but I would bet a quarter the battery is the issue .

^ agree. I get the same thing on my LX-5 when my battery is getting low on juice.

How old is the unit? If its not the battery there is only one other thing I can think of that it would be.

First thought to try is low battery.
Second possibility? Were you fishing a steep break line with a mud bottom? I have had units do similar things fishing the edges of the flats here on Mille Lacs.

My new lx6 did the same w version 3.17 running on full charge with 12.7 volts. This is new unit and did in dynamic fishing under 10 feet w sensitivity at 15 and 6 color.

Thanks for replying! And I just bought it this year on black friday and have used it quiet a bit too. Plus I always charge it after every trip so I’m not sure if over charging it can be the cause. And I think it might be the mud flats thats causing because its been working great when i get hard bottom.

Thanks for replying! I just bought it this year on black friday so I don’t think its the battery unless I’ve over used it. And I think it might be the mud bottoms thas causing it.

Hey thanks! And thanks for replying! I just bought the unit this year on black friday but I have been using it quiet a bit so maybe that could be why.
