Im heading to lotws saturday morning to fish and was wondering what baits are best up there. I love vmc tinglers and have many different kinds of spoons and jigging baits, just wondering what normally works best. And also wondering if jigging in 20-30 feet of water, is hardline my best bet?
    Thanks in advance

I’ve always been a fan of pink and white on LOTW, I’m sure the uv pink tingler will be a hit, but the 1/8 oz rattle spoon in pink and white should be good for calling them in when the schools are not directly below you too. On my dead stick I usually use a #4 pink/glow demon or a red or orange glow moon jig. Definitely interested to hear what other guys are using there too!

FWIW – The UV Green Fire Glow Rattle Spoon in 1/8 oz was our best bait up there last week on Lake of the Woods. Anything that glows or rattles will be a good choice. If it glows AND rattles… even better.

Pink, green and gold have always been top producers regardless of the lure selected.

Once you’ve located fish put on pink glow. If they don’t bite try more pink/red glow. If they don’t want that try some more pink/red glow. I think you get the message. On a rare occasion you might try gold. That is after trying lots go pink/red. Good luck.

I have had success with the Lundy rattlin flying spoons smaller sizes and I just love putting the biggest chubby Darter or lindy shad baits on . I prefer the ones that resemble..tulibee for the larger fish marks.Make sure to fish or watch for fish high in the water column these are the biggest fish in mho.

I’ll be hanging out on 5 mile again this year same weekend as you.Always had good luck here for the past few, years.Same general area as it seems to produce big fish every year for someone in our group of ten.

Gold first, then pink/red! Sounds like a great-taste, less-filling type debate, but like Kurt said, you get the picture. These are standard colors for up there; paired with standard offerings in rattling baits or others that put off some vibration, you’ll be sitting pretty. Let us know how you do!
