Thinking of planning a trip to South Dakota (Pierre brookings, Watertown) area and was looking for a good place to find reports. Thinking of going within the next couple weeks. Would also like to hear your recommendations on a good spot with easy access for walleye and perch. Thanks!

I also am interested, going to Brookings next weekend for x-Mas. I’ve never fished there before, water or ice, I want to take my dad, bro, bro in law. 1 has soft water experience, none have local experience. Thanks.

If staying in Brookings, heading west about a half hour to the town of Lake Preston is always good. Theres a few good lakes such Thompson, Henry or Whitewood. Theres always something biting at one of them. The Bait Box in Lake Preston will have some tips on where to go if you get some bait there.

Before you go running after crappies near Brookings… there was over 600 people counted in the area where the crappie bite is taking place. Not sure how long it can withstand that much pressure… just an fyi

and to add to that the bite was going all of last winter also for crappie in the same spot.
