Lazer Pro Won’t Idle

Been having issues with my Solo powered Lazer Pro, the thing just won’t idle. I cleaned the carb at the begining of the season with little improvement. Just put a carb kit in it today. It runs better at full throttle than it did before but it still will not iddle. If you don’t keep a hand on the throttle it quits every time.

At this point I can only guess it is a low idle adjustment issue. The adjustment screws do not have a typical head on them. What tool is used to make the adjustment?

Frustrated at this point. Ran great the first season on it, but last year and this year it is nothing but trouble.

    Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

If anyone ever needs to get an auger serviced it is easy to find a service center near you using SM’s Service Center Locator. Service Center Locator

The idle adjustment screw is a regular straight slot screwdriver head. It has a spring on it, the other two screw that are somewhat hidden, I believe are the HI and Low speed jets.

Solo carbs use a D socket for the adjustments. You need to adjust the low speed for sure, and maybe also the high speed.I believe Solo uses a Walbro carb?

You can get the set on Amazon or ? that has the D,double D and pacman style.

Make sure gas lines are good, common problem on these augers are poor gaslines that get hard and crack….

I took my youngest out today and had the auger running for about an hour. Wide open throtle runs much better after the carb kit. Still won’t idle at all.

I will need to pick up the D socket and make the adjustment to the low speed idle.

So long as it keeps starting and running wide open, I will limp it through till November next year. Then I will bring it in for a proper service.

Thank you all for the advice. I knew there had to be a socket that fit those adjustment screws.
