Earlier in the week I posted a request for information regarding what water to fish for both walleyes and perch. I received several responses almost unanimously favoring South Dakota. I tried posting a question as to the SD recomendations if you guys had any favorite places to stay or guides? I also wondered if there was any resorts right on the water? Thanks again for the info.

because the lakes in that area are and have been expanding, waterfront resorts are hard to come by (there are quite a few underwater barns!). You can google in Webster SD lodging and see a pretty good list of places to stay. I have stayed at Boomers and The Galley, both are clean and reasonable rates. Guides? Not sure, but there are quite a few up and running. Quentin B can also help point you in the right direction.

I grew up in the Waubay Webster area! There are some guides. You can also see a pretty up to date fishing report for the whole glacial lake region. Here’s a link http://www.sdglaciallakes.com/fishing-reports If that doesn’t work just google glacial lakes fishing report. It will tell you reports from local bait shops and some guides in the area. Also here’s a link for a local radio station http://www.gowatertown.net/pages/8405764.php They have a weekly radio show and they talk to GFP biologists and local bait shops to tell you where the hot bite is.I don’t think you need a guide, some of the locals are pretty helpful. I hear they are catching perch and walleye on Waubay lake and I heard bitter is starting to pick up. Any other questions feel free to hit me up

Thanks again for the info. Looks like we just need to figure out where and when to go.
