How do you guys deal with frozen line? I went out the other day out of my shack and ice was forming on my line like crazy??

You were jigging outside the shack? Using mono line?

Not much you can do other than have a rod with large guides. The recoil guides that are being used on the custom made rods are Titanium and you can easily clear and buildup from them, but you will still get it on your line when it’s super cold. Thaw it off with your mouth!

I slide it through Yahbuddy’s plumbers crack. He digs it!

Thats the biggest pain in the when fishing outside the shelter. Like other guys mentioned the best thing to do is to go with bigger guides on your rod like the guides that guys from DH Custom or TUCR make for their rods.

I have a couple poles setup with braided line and that is even worse for freezing. I was out last sunday (it was 0 out) and couldn’t even use it. I ended up setting a big buddy heater by me to keep things thawed out.

Run the line through you mouth or grip the ice with fingers.
