I would be interested in them. I also may have others that would be interested as well. Anyone have details on them.
December 18, 2013 at 8:54 am #1372366Winter league would be difficult and eliminate a lot of potential participants.

There are 2 that I know of.
There is the Ultimate Panfish League. I am not real familiar with this one, but it might be more for “pros”.
Team Extreme Ice Fishing Tournaments. These are new. They have 3 types of tourneys.
Team Tourneys
Pro Tourneys (Fish as an individual)And then you can set up a club and be associated with them. Creating a club means you can set your own locations and I assume dates and times. Clubs mean you don’t have to go all over the state every month, but instead keep it local with guys in your area.

If you are talking an occasional weekend tourney that is a different story as well.
That’s what it is. Most if not all hold a tourney once a month on the weekend.
December 18, 2013 at 11:09 am #1372433I think you guys aren’t reading my question.
Its good to know though that some people are interested.
I was interested in hearing from people that are in those 2 leagues/circuits and learning about them from a fisherman’s point of view.
December 18, 2013 at 11:09 am #1372434There is the Ultimate Panfish League – Rochester series of tournaments. Certainly not for the pros (a few events ago, 1st and 2nd place were won by 15 & 14 yr old kids (their combined age is still younger than me and I got 3rd)). Just a locals series of events where the entry is $10 (optionally + $1 for big fish prize), 100% payback. There are about 5-6 ice events per year held on different lakes/reservoirs close to Rochester, MN.
PS. Got banned on another “hot” fishing forum earlier this week for posting about the UPLR, so I’m hoping the same doesn’t happen here on IDO.
December 18, 2013 at 1:16 pm #1372496You got banned for mentioning a fishing tourney on a fish website? What chicken chit outfit did that?
Tom SawvellInactivePosts: 9559December 18, 2013 at 3:34 pm #1372532Tyler hosts a darned good tourney. They are always fair and they are located on waters that produce a wide variety of fish. He does a bang-up good job of running these and puts a ton of work into making them what they are. I think this is the 4th, maybe 5th, season. What Tyler offers is definitely worth the drive and the few hours of fishing.

You have to ask?I mentioned something I was working on, asking if anyone wanted to test it.
BANNED, or at least put in a time out. That was about the last time I went. I still lurk infrequently, but I don’t contribute. Too bad too, because I liked some of the guys over there. I used to hit 3 fishing websites a day, but cut back to one.
lakedocktorPosts: 19December 21, 2013 at 8:40 am #1373231I fished all of the Team Extreme events last year and I will tell you that it is a very well ran circuit. Previously, I fished the NAIFC, and still may fish a couple events this season, but I like the format that Team Extreme is set up on.
With the NAIFC, there is a lot of travelling involved to stay competitive. There are quite a few teams that travel all over the country and fish every event. With Team Extreme, there are 3 divisions- Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Each division holds a series of tournaments and will declare a Team of the Year at the conclusion of each division. The top 25 teams in points from each division will compete in a National Championship held in March. There will be some really good payouts at the Championship, but the best satisfaction is getting out, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, and competing against one another.
The next Team Extreme event in Minnesota will be held on Fishhook Lake in Park Rapids on January 5th. I encourage anyone who is interested to sign up and give it a try. You will find out really quick that tournament ice fishing is very addicting!
If anyone has any questions, please let me know and I will help out to the best of my ability.
