I believe this topic has come up before, but I just dropped my handheld GPS down an ice hole and am interested in replacing it with my HDS 8. I looked at Lowrances website and can’t figure out which cords I need to hook it up to a snowmobile. I’m sure somebody here has this set up just wondering what I need to make it happen. Also, can it be used in place of my flasher with the ice transducer? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I use my HDS-7 for ice fishing. I bought a standard power cord then a cigarette lighter plug and attached it to the end. Use it on my ATV, I put a receptacle in my sled, and it works in the car. Simple, easy, and very adaptable.
Don’t forget the fuse!

Thanks for the help guys. I couldn’t find those cables anywhere on lowrances website. If I buy those cables where does the fuse go?
You can use any power cable for your unit. Just clip the ends off and wire up a cig adapter with pigtails. Fuse will go on the pos line about 6″ from the power source. Not sure what size HB recommends for that unit, it will be in your user manual.

Any radioshack type store should have them.. make sure its 12V output.
