I’ve been out quite a few times here in Colorado already but have been hitting high mountain lakes or smaller lakes so I haven’t tagged into anything too large so I spent some time on a big body of water this weekend in hopes of getting into some larger fish. It was pretty slow but finally got one over 20″ this year. I was fishing one of my go-to spoons, the PK Flutterfish in the color Red Dot Glow, when a mark came in on my flasher 5 feet above my spoon and came straight down to smack it. After about a 5 minute fight on 6lb test I was able to ice the piggie. It was a healthy 22.75″ Cutbow. My TUCR Precision rod handled this big girl like a champ! I will be editing up a video of this action very soon!

Congrats! Cutbows are incredible fish. Like to eat and get big, not to mention, I’m sure you had a heckuva fight on your hands with that dandy. Congrats and thanks for sharing!

It was a heck of a fight! Drag was set a little loose since it was the first fish on the new rod but after the intense first run, I tightened it up a bit and managed to land it after 5 minutes. Snapped a few pictures, shot a measurement, and got it back in the water. Took a minute or two and then it splashed me with a powerful tail flip on its release!

I uploaded it last night, only to notice some audio output issues. I’m fixing those and I will upload it soon!
