I’d like to try one of their combos but I’m not sure which to get. I’ve narrowed it down to a few but I would like some help deciding.

White Noise 27″ UL: 5BB reel. Graphite blank, Evolvet Steel Blue guides. $29.99

Wicked Ice 27″ UL: 5BB reel. Toray Carbon blank. Evolvet Performance guides. $49.99

Whiteout 28.5″ UL: 5BB reel. Toray Carbon Blank. Evolvet Performance guides. $59.99

Black Betty 27″ UL: 1:1 straight line reel. Graphite rod, stainless steel guides. $59.99.

I was leaning towards the wicked ice, but would love some opinions on both the rod and reels!

Are the reels on the wicked any good or would I be better off to buy just the rod and throw a sienna on it?

It’s not bad, it’s better than my Pflueger Trion but not as nice as a Sienna. I guess it depends on your price point.

That sounds exactly like a sienna. Might as well just buy the combo and save $10.

Love my new Wicked Ice combo 27″ UL. It has been awesome so far.

Black Betty is one of my favorites. Also really like the black Betty real on the wicked 27″ UL

Thanks for the help guys. I went ahead and ordered a 27″ wicked combo from a small shop in St. Cloud.

I probably would have bought the black betty if the rod was better, I’d rather have carbon with the good guides vs graphite with stainless. Might add a straight-line reel to my arsenal one of these days.

^. I really do like straight reels. Even when fishing 20 to 30′ of water i have no issues. I can drop a light tackle just as fast as my spinning reel, spinning reel is def faster with heavier tackle for obvious reason.

Deepest I fish is about 15 feet, typically fishing 8-12. Straight line would probably be perfect for me, but I use my ice reels in the summer on UL rods.
