    It’s fun to have that person with that just wants to catch his first legal walleye for a goal for the season. And you get him on the ice for the first time for the year and he lets you know he just pulled up a 15 1/2″ eye that just makes legal by 1/2″. Then later in the day he pulls out a 26 1/2″er that has to go back down the hole due to slot regs. Than just as it’s time to pack it up he gets a 28 1/2″er and at that point there is no whipping the grin off his face. Out of the group of 6 of us that made up are own little shanty town, Boar you got to shine. Congratulations my friend. What’s your next goal? Memories on the ice with friends gotta love it.

    Great post Iceasylum!! I was sure happy to be part of that 6 man group and i myself and the boy had a great day to with the walleyes. Big congrats to you Boar!! And another thank you to Iceasylum for the AWESOME day on the ice!! Made new friends and memories!!

    That’s the one fun thing ice fishing has over open water fishing. You can go out in a group and have fun comfortably.

    That would have been cool to see someone catch there personal best in the same day they got there firs eye of the season cant wait to come out with you guys this winter keep slaying them and hope I can learn a thing or two when I get out there as well Congrats on the Big eye of the trip

    I wonder how you buddy slept that night when he got home? I’m sure his wife was getting tired of hearing about what a great day he had ….. and how he wants to go back….Nice report and thanks for sharing!

    LOL he slept well. His wife and kids where very excited about his catch. He will defiantly be back up soon. That big girl will be on his wall also. The body of water that I fish has the potential of large fish diffrenr species any time. Last year i brought what had to be close to a 50″+ musky to the bottom of the hole on a jig and wax worm. I enjoy taking friends out there and see them catch bigger fish than they are used to.
