I just had to share that I caught a monstronny of a bluegill today in 24 foot of water suspended at 10 feet on a small silver glow stripe slender spoon. Looks like I know what to buy now for those big gills.

Nice gill, I bet there would be much more like it if people didn’t keep so many fish out of that area. Your picture is crooked btw

When you get into gills, you have to throw slender spoon down once in a while just in case.

    Nice fish.

It was all of 9.5 inches on the ice scoop. So you could say it was a ten inch gill

I use the copper/orange spoon with 1 spike on the point to the inside of the treble. It usually catches the bigger gills compared to the people around me. My buddy caught about 75 crappies (kept 25 of the ones that took it too deep or were the larger ones) last Sunday on the same color with a plastic trailer hooked to hang straight down) while I went through several colors and only got 3.
