Well I have been away from the site for a long time but I have got a chance to get away this weekend and was thinking of running out to Devils Lake. I have never fished out there before so am looking for any thing to shorten the learning curve.

I am taking a wheeler and portable unless they have enough ice to drive out. Anyone have any intell that they could or would share. You can PM if you dont want to post anything. Was thinking of staying at Woodlands and going out there but possibly McQuoids

Any infor would be great. Colors, jigs, sizes baits etc. Walleyes and perch are the hope. Leaving around 11 pm Fri night and coming back Sunday..

    Thanks Jason

    devils lake tourism

usually updated pretty often in terms of ice conditions. I have not been on devils this year but Irvine 20 miles away is putting out perch and walleyes as well. silver slender spoons have been working well for me.

Devils lake has been GREAT so far this season. Ice conditions seem to be pretty steady in the 10-12″ range. Most small bays have 14″+. Perch as well as walleyes have been quite “friendly and hungry” As far as walleye. I almost always start with a rippin rap and rairly have to change from that. Perch, I typically start with a small slender spoon and if that doesn’t work or they look but cdont commit I switch to a plastic and usually that’s the ticket.. Just about any small spoon with a minnow head seams to be working for the perch recently. Good luck and enjoy.
